Does TiniFiber offer a warranty?
Yes, a 25 Year product warranty and a 25 Year Connector to Connector warranty are available, each require the submission of proper documentation. The 25 Year Connector to Connector warranty is only available to TiniFiber Certified Installers.
Who makes the glass for TiniFiber?
TiniFiber sources glass exclusively from qualified, tested manufacturers that meet our rigorous quality standards. Our engineering department oversees the qualification process to ensure the highest quality glass that our customers depend on.
Are special tools needed to prepare TiniFiber for termination/splicing?
No special tools are required. However, TiniFiber offers tools such as the M.A.R.T., which allows the spiral armor to be ballooned for faster separation of our patented Micro Armor. For sizes above 3.2mm, a simple metal cutter is the best option. Visit our website for detailed stripping instructions.
Is TiniFiber compatible with commonly available termination practices and products?
Yes, our 250um and 900um coated fibers are 100% compatible with commonly available connectors and products.
Is it necessary to ground TiniFiber?
Anytime armored cable enters a building from an OSP environment the cable would be grounded. It is always best to check with the AHJ “Authority Having Jurisdiction” in your local area.
How do you ground TiniFiber?
TiniFiber offers grounding lugs PN# TF-GC01 for 2 through 24 strand cables and, TF-GC02 for 48 through 144 strand cables.
How is the stainless-steel armor removed?
An easy twist and stretching motion will separate the armor enough for it to be cut with side cutters and removed. Video demonstrations are available on our web site. TiniFiber also offers the M.A.R.T. for simplified snipping for sizes 1.0mm – 3.2mm.
What environments are TiniFiber’s cables rated for?
TiniFiber offers many jacketed variations to support a wide range of industry needs. Our cables are available in common Plenum (UL) and Riser ratings, as well as Direct Burial options and LIOS and RIOS constructions. Contact your TiniFiber sales representative to find the right solution for your application.
Does TiniFiber offer project registration for large projects?
TiniFiber has a project registration form qualified projects located within our web portal.
How long does it take for my order to ship?
TiniFiber stocks millions of feet of cable at our facility in Lindenhurst, NY, and we work diligently to maintain a fast 48-hour turnaround from PO acceptance. While stockouts can occasionally occur, we work tirelessly to support our customers with the shortest available lead times.
Does TiniFiber sell Fiber Optic cable directly to contractors or end users?
TiniFiber only sells through approved distribution networks.
Does TiniFiber manufacture custom cables and/or assemblies?
Yes. Our manufacturing facility is designed to support customer-specific configurations and requirements. We can incorporate copper solutions within our cables, similar to our DAS hybrid offerings, and support the industry with custom cable assemblies produced at our facilities in Lindenhurst, NY and Roanoke, AL. All cable assemblies can be configured to meet your exact needs.
Does TiniFiber offer fan out kits for the 250um (loose tube) fiber?
TiniFiber offers Fan-Out kits available for 6,12 and 24 count buffer tubes. Available part numbers are TFBK-6, PN, TFBK-12, and TFBK-24.
Which fiber counts are available in 900um (tight buffer)?
TiniFiber currently offers 900um Tight Buffer cables up to and including 24 fiber strands.
Which fiber counts are available in 250um (loose tube)?
TiniFiber currently offers Gel-free Sub-unitized Breakout style cables utilizing 250um up to and including 144-strand, commonly available in 12, 24,36,48,72,96 and 144 counts.
Does TiniFiber offer fusion splicing equipment?
TiniFiber offers fusion splicers for both single fiber and ribbon fiber splicing applications, please check with your sales rep for additional information.
Does TiniFiber offer Ribbon fiber?
Yes, TiniFiber offers ribbon fiber in both standard ribbon and rollable ribbon configurations.
Does TiniFiber have any third-party certifications?
Yes. For example, our Plenum cables are listed to the UL standard for plenum ceiling applications. We are continuously expanding our certifications; contact your TiniFiber sales representative for the most current information.
